Hartson-Kennedy Cabinet Top Co., Inc. is now offering a new "green" countertop option that uses Medex, a moisture resistant, no-added formaldehyde medium density fiberboard (MDF) as its core, to all customers. The environmentally friendly Medex board can be used with any of Hartson-Kennedy’s extensive line of countertop designs including the Ultra-Top No-Drip, Ultra-Top Waterfall, Dura-Top, E-Top #1500, E-Top #2000 and Diamond-Top.
A laminate countertop with a Medex core is an ideal choice for projects where indoor air quality (IAQ) can be a concern. No-added formaldehyde and the use of 100% recovered and recycled wood fibers help Medex achieve SCS and EEP Certification. Using a Medex core countertop contributes to LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) credits.
Advanced physical properties, ability to accept and hold screws, staples and other countertop fastening hardware, as well as exhibiting great machining properties make the Medex board a first-class product for fabrication and installation. The board’s smooth surface, body and profiles create an outstanding countertop core.
The moisture resistant characteristics of Medex countertops create an excellent solution for kitchens, bathrooms, window sills and interior areas where moisture is a concern.
